It all began in 1808, when Apolline Henriot, a young widow and descendant of a family with deep roots in winemaking, decided to found her own Champagne house in Reims. Drawing on the scientific legacy of her great-uncle, Canon Godinot—author of a seminal treatise on viticulture published as early as 1718—Apolline infused the House with an innovative vision. Determined to “illuminate her lands by creating a great Champagne,” she laid the groundwork for a house that, from its very inception, has prioritized high standards and passion.
Over the generations, the Henriot family has enriched this legacy. In 1880, the marriage of Paul Henriot to Marie Marguet, a native of the Côte des Blancs, marked a historic turning point: the vineyard expanded to include prestigious Chardonnay crus, adding a new dimension to the blends. Resolutely forward-thinking, the family has always placed an understanding of the soil at the heart of its concerns, launching an ambitious project of soil pits as early as 1920. This culture of observation continues today under the leadership of Alice Tétienne, Cellar Master, through the “Alliance Terroirs” project, which adapts viticultural practices to current environmental and climatic challenges.
Maison Henriot offers a collection of finely crafted cuvées, true reflections of a terroir where Chardonnay expresses itself with rare distinction, combining generosity and purity.
The Non-Vintage Brut Champagnes embody the very essence of the Henriot style. They showcase the richness of the reserve wines, carefully collected by successive generations since the 1970s, offering admirable complexity and consistency.
The Vintage Champagnes are the ultimate expression of a specific year. They illustrate the House’s ability to capture the brilliance and uniqueness of a harvest, resulting in wines distinguished by their balance, their length on the palate, and their exceptional aging potential.
The House’s iconic Blanc de Blancs Champagnes highlight the chalky purity of the grand crus of the Côte des Blancs. With great aromatic precision, they reveal a finesse and elegance that have made the Henriot style renowned among the most discerning connoisseurs.
Every bottle of Henriot is an invitation to discovery: delicate, distinguished, and intensely luminous, it embodies the passion of a family that has been dedicated to Champagne excellence for over 200 years.
