Heir to a history that dates back to the 13th century, when the family's ancestors first set foot on Vendée soil, the famous House of Cognac has always stood out for its deep attachment to the land and its respect for tradition. It was at the end of the 19th century, in the midst of the phylloxera crisis, that Émile saw the potential of the neglected vines in the Cognac region and decided to found an authentic and audacious Maison de Cognac.
For over 120 years, four generations have succeeded one another at the head of the company. Today, Gérard Seguinot continues to uphold the family values, ensuring the continuity of an exceptional winegrowing heritage.
Established on a terroir of Rare quality, Maison Seguinot benefits from the unique limestone soils of Grande Champagne, renowned for producing Cognacs of unrivalled finesse and excellent ageing capacity. The carefully selected Ugni Blanc grape variety is harvested in early October, when the grapes reach full maturity. Distillation takes place in traditional Charentais stills, in a process that has remained unchanged since the company was founded.
Seguinot Cognacs are aged in the calm of the cellars, where the alcohol, in contact with the wood of the barrels, develops its complex aromas. The famous "angels' share", the poetic evaporation of the alcohol, bears witness to the silent magic that operates over the decades, giving Cognacs their amber color and incomparable bouquet.
Each blend is orchestrated by the cellar master, whose expertise and intuition make it possible to sublimate the eaux-de-vie, whether young or aged for several decades. Respecting age counts well above the norm, Maison Seguinot offers Cognacs of great richness.
