The history of Waris-Hubert is above all a human and family adventure that began in 1997. Olivier Waris and Stéphanie Hubert each represent the fourth generation of winemakers on their respective estates. By joining forces and combining their precious vineyard heritage, they created a brand bearing their names, guided by a spirit of total independence. Now supported by their children, they oversee a family-run estate where every step, from tending the land to disgorgement, is handled in-house. In just a few decades, thanks to exemplary consistency and bottles with a sleek design, Waris-Hubert has made a name for itself among the most sought-after niche houses of the Côte des Blancs.
The jewel of Maison Waris-Hubert lies in the remarkable diversity of its vineyards, which span over 11 hectares. The heart of the estate beats in the prestigious villages of the Côte des Blancs classified as 100% Grand Cru: Avize, Oger, and Cramant, where Chardonnay draws exceptional minerality and tension from the pure chalk soils. To enrich its aromatic palette, the estate also owns plots of Pinot Noir and Meunier ideally situated in the Marne Valley (Aÿ Grand Cru), the Montagne de Reims, and the Aube. This unique geological mosaic allows the Waris-Hubert family to craft blends of great architectural complexity.
The secret to the quality of Waris-Hubert champagnes lies in a total commitment to the environment and masterful winemaking. The estate is managed according to the principles of eco-responsible viticulture (certified High Environmental Value - HVE). The soils are plowed to encourage the roots to penetrate deep into the chalky rock. In the cellar, work is carried out with respect for the identity of each plot. Winemaking is primarily conducted under controlled temperatures to preserve the fruit’s purity, with a very measured and controlled use of oak for certain prestige cuvées. Extended aging over several years in the dim light of the estate’s cellars allows the wines to develop a silky texture and bubbles of infinite finesse.
Waris-Hubert champagnes are instantly recognizable for their crystalline purity, vibrant freshness, and elegant integrity. The estate has structured its range in a way that is very clear to enthusiasts:
Choosing a Waris-Hubert Champagne on Premium Grands Crus guarantees you’ll discover a masterpiece from an independent winemaker with an absolutely remarkable price-to-pleasure ratio.
