Mazzei

The Mazzei family, intimately linked to the wine scene for over six centuries, strives to perpetuate its heritage and know-how to produce unique wines of exceptional quality. Today run by Filppo and Francesco Mazzei, the family business continues its commitment to the wine trade, combining tradition, innovation and respect for the terroir.

Today, the family owns three estates: Castello di Fonterutoli in Chianti Classico, Belguardo in Maremma Tuscany and Zisola in southern Sicily. These exceptional terroirs allow us to express a varied richness while respecting the characteristics and specificities of each one. The constant care given to the wines is reflected in each cuvée, to the satisfaction of connoisseurs the world over, who associate the Mazzei name with a benchmark in the world of great Italian wines.

The Mazzei Domaines are very concerned about their environment, and do their utmost to limit their footprint. The vines are cultivated on terraces to limit soil erosion, water is regulated to increase the presence of organic matter in the soil, and the cellars are air-conditioned by recycling spring water. In order to stabilize ecosystems and pRéserver biodiversity, no synthetic products are used in the vineyards. Instead, green waste (stalks, pomace, manure) is used to produce compost for use as organic fertilizer. Pest control is carried out using pheromones to limit the use of inSecticides. Plant essences are also used to increase the soil's organic matter content.

In addition to vineyards, the Mazzei family also own olive trees and lavender plants, enabling them to diversify their production by making Extra-virgin olive oil and cosmetics.
