Since 1956, Domaine Denis Mortet has embodied a family history deeply rooted in the vineyards of Gevrey-Chambertin. Passed down from generation to generation, this passion for Bourgogne is today combined with the innovative vision of Laurence, Arnaud and Clémence Mortet, who combine respect for roots and modernity in a subtle balance.
Today, Domaine farms nearly 16 hectares spread over a hundred carefully selected plots, covering a wide spectrum of prestigious appellations from villages to Grands Crus (Chambertin, Mazis-Chambertin, Bonnes-Mares, Charmes-Chambertin). This mosaic of parcels guarantees a diversity of expressions and a unique finesse, reflecting the geological and microclimatic singularities of each locality.
In terms of viticulture, the Mortet family favors a demanding approach: each parcel is cultivated in full ownership, with no purchase of grapes, thus ensuring total quality control. The viticulture, respectful and precise, aims to reveal the typicality of the terroirs through rigorous and reasoned management, favoring the natural balance of the vines. This attention to the vines is reflected in a vinification process that respects the fruit and its original expression, without artifice or excess.
The wines of Domaine Denis Mortet are distinguished by their structured elegance, vibrant freshness and aromatic complexity. They accurately reflect the character of the great terroirs of Gevrey-Chambertin, offering enthusiasts rich, deep profiles with superb length on the palate. This signature, both faithful to the family heritage and open to contemporary developments, makes for vintages of great purity and remarkable ageing potential.
Finally, the spirit of Domaine is marked by great humility and a constant concern for moderation and authenticity. Every decision, whether in the vineyard or in the cellar, is taken with deep reflection, combining tradition and innovation to perpetuate an exceptional winegrowing art de vivre.
