Quorhum

A family history and preserved Cuban heritage

The QUORHUM adventure began in 1870 in Cuba, when Juanillo Oliver, originally from Spain, founded a company specializing in the production of high-quality rum and cigars. For nearly a century, the Oliver family perfected their art, becoming a benchmark in the Cuban industry. However, the Cuban revolution of 1959 marked a turning point: the family left Cuba to settle in the Dominican Republic, where they restarted production in 1963 in the province of Santo Domingo. This is where QUORHUM was born, a rum that perpetuates the Cuban heritage while enriching itself with the Dominican terroir and climate.

Today, Oliver & Oliver is a family business run by the fourth generation, which continues to produce artisanal, high-end, limited-edition rums. The distillery relies on traditional methods, meticulous aging, and rigorous barrel selection to create rums of exceptional quality, acclaimed by experts around the world.

Artisanal expertise and unique production methods

QUORHUM stands out for its artisanal and meticulous approach, where each stage of production is designed to enhance the natural aromas of sugar cane and the Dominican terroir.

Controlled distillation and aging

QUORHUM rums are made from Dominican sugar cane molasses, distilled in copper stills according to family recipes handed down since the 19th century. Aging takes place in American and European oak barrels, carefully selected for their ability to impart notes of vanilla, caramel, dried fruit, and sweet spices. Some rums, such as QUORHUM 30 Aniversario, are finished in port barrels, adding a touch of red fruit and grape to their aromatic profile.

The distillery also uses the solera method, a dynamic aging system where rums of different ages are blended to create balanced and complex expressions. This technique, combined with an ideal tropical climate, results in rums of rare smoothness and depth.

A range of exceptional rums

  • QUORHUM offers a varied range, where each expression tells a story:
  • QUORHUM 23 Años Solera: A rum aged for 23 years using the solera method, offering aromas of vanilla, nuts, caramel, and candied fruit. This multi-award-winning rum is a perfect example of the balance between Cuban tradition and Dominican terroir.
  • QUORHUM 30 Aniversario: A limited edition of 4,000 bottles, aged for nearly 30 years and finished in port barrels. This rum offers notes of raisin, chocolate, vanilla, and spices, with an exceptionally long finish.
  • QUORHUM Cask Strength: An undiluted version, aged in oak barrels, for a powerful and intense experience, with aromas of ripe fruit, honey, and fine wood.
  • QUORHUM Oporto Finish: A rum aged in port barrels, offering notes of red fruit, grape, and nuts, for a refined and elegant tasting experience.

A limited edition bottling

Each bottle of QUORHUM is numbered and bottled by hand, guaranteeing consistent quality and a unique experience. The rums are non-chill filtered and contain no added coloring, preserving their full aromatic richness. The distillery also offers special editions, such as the QUORHUM Travel Edition, reserved for travelers and collectors.

Why QUORHUM?

The care we take when receiving wines in our cellars enables us to detect bottles with imperfections (dirty or faded labels, damaged capsules, etc.). In such cases, they are systematically set aside and never put online! Our preparation team selects only bottles with perfect presentation for your orders!

It is these bottles with slight external defects that we present to you in the "Existe en imparfaite" selection. These bottles are, of course, of "irreproachable" gustatory quality, but suffer from slight defects on the label or cap. We therefore offer them at a preferential price, making the pleasure of tasting them even more affordable.
