The Château Mouton Rothschild is known to all wine lovers, not only for its exceptional wines but also for its labels signed by artists since the 1945 vintage.
The story of Mouton Rothschild began in 1853, when Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild bought Château Brane-Mouton from Pauillac, renaming it Mouton-Rothschild. In 1922, his great-grandson Philippe de Rothschild took over the reins for the next 65 years, and it was he who raised Mouton Rothschild to the pinnacle of its glory thanks to his determination and doggedness. "With its deep color, this wine exudes a complex, vibrant bouquet. Red fruits such as cherry and raspberry combine with hints of spice, vanilla and oak. The palate is elegant, with a clean attack and precisely balanced body. The tannins appear powdery, stretching through to the finish with its gourmand aromas of dark chocolate." - marie, Oenologue Premium Grands Crus
The 2024 vintage was tricky at the beginning and end of the vine cycle, but fortunately clement at stages decisive for quality. The hot, Sec sunny summer favored a strong hydric constraint allowing fine ripening of tannins and good synthesis of anthocyanins. From the spring soil work to the harvest, the involvement of our teams and the performance of our tools enabled us to always be in action and never in reaction. This tailor-made approach has resulted in fresh, highly aromatic, fine and elegant wines, perfectly illustrating the Atlantic expression of the terroirs from which they come.
