The Château Feytit-Clinet is a discreet but non-qualitative estate, located on the western plateau of the Pomerol appellation. Domaine has been owned by the Chasseuil family since 2000, who have been keen to carry out restructuring work in the vineyard and cellar in order to make the most of their great terroir.
The Château Feytit-Clinet is a 6.5-hectare vineyard planted on gravelly-sandy soils. The grape varieties are 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet franc. The wines are aged for an average of 16 months in French oak barrels, 70% of which are new.
The Château Feytit-Clinet produces remarkably well-constructed wines, expressing depth and elegance, reflecting the best that Pomerol has to offer.
2024 was a delicate year at Pomerol, between a spring marked by heavy mildew pressure and a summer Sec that saved the day, favoring optimal ripening on the sandy-clay gravel of Domaine. Vigilance in the vineyard and scrupulous harvesting enabled this vintage to deliver a precise, elegant expression of its terroir.
a dense La robe announces a concentrated, almost tactile wine. The nose opens with a deep black register, blending ripe black cherry, crushed plum, bitter cocoa and fresh truffle, enhanced by fine spices and a hint of light tobacco.
The attack is voluminous, full-bodied and silky, carried by tight but perfectly integrated tannins, unfolding a robust structure without austerity. The finish stretches out with a saline freshness and mineral complexity that mark the terroir.
The blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, aged in barrels of which 70% are new, confers depth and density, while preserving elegant aromatic finesse and racy balance.
This highly promising 2024 embodies the pure, refined signature of Feytit-Clinet, in a demanding but controlled vintage.
