Château Monbousquet 2024 follows in the footsteps of the great Saint-Émilion from the south of the appellation, where the 34 hectares of vineyards offer a mosaic of sandy-clay, gravelly and ferrous soils. This geological diversity lends the wine a rich texture and singular aromatic depth.
The blend is dominated by Merlot (65%), complemented by 20% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines, on average 26 years old, are carefully cultivated: short pruning, green harvesting, precise leaf thinning and hand-picking with rigorous sorting. The 2024 harvest took place between September 24 and October 3, with a controlled yield of 25.82 hl/ha.
Vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, then aged in barrels (58% new), this vintage presents a silky, expressive profile. The wine has a titre of 13.61°, an acidity of 3.52 and a pH of 3.77, reflecting a balance between maturity and freshness.
On the nose, ripe aromas of black fruits, sweet spices and licorice take center stage. The palate is full-bodied, with a velvety structure and a lingering finish, where the well-integrated wood supports the whole without overpowering it.
Original pairings: beef cheek confit with miso, lamb pastilla with fruit Secs or duck tataki with black sesame. Dishes that reveal the suppleness and warmth of this Grand Cru Classé.
