A fine reference in the Graves region, Château de Fieuzal is located in the commune of Léognan. Existing for several centuries but abandoned in the aftermath of the French Revolution, the vineyard was reborn at the end of the First Empire, and its reputation has continued to grow.
Classed red in the Graves Classification in 1953, it has been owned by Irish couple Brenda and Lochlann Quinn since 2001. With tradition and modernity, the vineyard is managed with the greatest care and respect for the environment. Thanks to a new winery inaugurated in 2011, optimization is the watchword during vinification.
The Château de Fieuzal has a 48-hectare vineyard planted on gravel and sandy clay-limestone soils.
- The red grape varieties (42 ha) are 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon 8% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet franc. The grand vin is aged for 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels, 50% of which are new. L'Abeille de Fieuzal is the Second red wine.
- The white grape varieties (6 ha) are 60% Sauvignon blanc and 40% Sémillon. The grand vin blanc is aged for 8 to 14 months in French oak barrels, 40% of which are new. L'Abeille de Fieuzal is the Second white wine.
The wines of Château de Fieuzal enjoy an excellent reputation, the reds are racy, fine and elegant while the whites are unctuous and of great aromatic purity.
The 2024 blend of Château de Fieuzal blanc fits perfectly between the crystalline precision of the 2021 vintage and the generous expressiveness of 2023. Structured around a majority of Sauvignon Blanc, this wine reveals an aromatic signature faithful to the identity of the vintage.
The nose is clean and elegant: vine peach, acacia flowers and fresh almond form the primary aromatic backbone. A subtle complexity emerges, supported by hints of orange blossom and apricot, adding depth and depth.
The palate is seductive with its silky texture and well-controlled volume. Perfectly integrated acidity lengthens the finish, conferring refined tension and remarkable persistence.
