Château Palmer

It's often said that anyone who has tasted Château Palmer at least once will remember it for the rest of their life. Without pretension, this may well be true, as it's such a beautiful name for Margaux. Château began to make a name for itself in 1814 when Colonel Charles Palmer bought it from Marie de Gascq, in which he invested considerable sums.

The Château Palmer was awarded the title of Troisième Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification for the Paris Universal Exhibition. It wasn't until the following year that the neo-renaissance Château as we know it today was built under the aegis of the Péreire brothers. Today, Domaine is owned equally by the Sichel and Mähler-Besse families, who continue to expand its reputation.

The vineyard covers 55 hectares, planted with 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot. The vines have been entirely managed according to Biodynamic principles since 2014. The wines are aged for 20 to 22 months in oak barrels, 50% of which are new.

A Second wine is produced by the estate, Alter Ego de Palmer.

The Château Palmer is renowned for the finesse and elegance of the wines it offers. Wines that are a true invitation to the pleasure of the senses.

Description Château Palmer 2024.

Château Palmer 2024 is the expression of a vintage of struggle and mastery, forged in a chaotic climatic context.

With rainfall double the ten-year average and mildew attacking as early as April, our teams had to be extremely vigilant. Experience of past vintages, reactivity in the face of hazards, and constant attention enabled us to contain losses, despite the inevitable coulure on some old Merlot plots.

Fortunately, two summer months Secs offered a welcome breather before the September rains that precipitated the harvest, from September 25 to October 10. In the vat room, optimism is back: the juices are showing promising tannins, and vinification is moving in the right direction. Precise, meticulous blending gradually reveals a natural harmony.

Composed of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot, Château Palmer 2024 reveals a full, velvety texture and remarkable depth. It's a wine rooted in its terroir, balanced and complex, transcending the constraints of the vintage to offer a refined, powerful expression. A great wine, born of rigor, know-how and an unwavering faith in the terroir's ability to express its very best.

Harvest dates: September 25 to October 10, 2024.

The care we take when receiving wines in our cellars enables us to detect bottles with imperfections (dirty or faded labels, damaged capsules, etc.). In such cases, they are systematically set aside and never put online! Our preparation team selects only bottles with perfect presentation for your orders!

It is these bottles with slight external defects that we present to you in the "Existe en imparfaite" selection. These bottles are, of course, of "irreproachable" gustatory quality, but suffer from slight defects on the label or cap. We therefore offer them at a preferential price, making the pleasure of tasting them even more affordable.
