The origin of Château La Lagune dates back to the eighteenth century.
The vineyard of this Château which lies on one of the most beautiful gravelly hilltops of the Medoc is a third Grand Cru Classé Haut-Médoc of the prestigious list of 1855.
The vineyard covers about 82 hectares, average age 35 years, and production is about 389 barrels per year depending on the vintage, i.e. 467,000 bottles for an average yield per hectare of 4000 to 4500 liters.
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon 60%, Merlot Noir 30% and Petit Verdot 10%.
All the grapes are harvested by hand and the wine is aged entirely in barrels, 50% of which are new, for 16 to 18 months depending on the Vintage before bottling.
On one of the most emblematic croups of the Haut-Médoc, Château La Lagune signs a 2024 with assertive elegance, reflecting a complex vintage. The light gravelly soils, true light diffusers, allowed the vines to draw the necessary energy despite a capricious weather marked by a rainy spring and a milder summer.
The blend of predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon (52%), complemented by Merlot (42%) and a touch of Petit Verdot (6%), produces a wine bursting with freshness.
The palate seduces with its delicacy and balance, carried by supple, precise tannins. The fruit expresses itself with purity, in a structured yet elegant framework.
Carefully aged in barrels (50% new), Château La Lagune 2024 is the fruit of meticulous plot management and certified organic and biodynamic viticulture. This wine embodies the identity of Domaine: lively, harmonious and timeless.
