Nestled along the Gironde estuary, between the villages of Beychevelle and Saint-Julien, Château du Glana stands majestically on the prestigious Route des Grands Vins, facing the venerable Château Ducru-Beaucaillou. Built in 1870, its emblematic walls elegantly blend the whiteness of limestone with the warm red of brick, bearing witness to a remarkable architectural heritage.
Designed by Blaye's municipal architect, Monsieur NaDeau, on behalf of Monsieur Cayx at the time, Glana's Château has its roots in the division of Château Saint-Pierre, Fourth Grand Cru Classé in 1855.
In 1961, the eminent Vaucluse nurseryman Gabriel Meffre acquired it. Under his enlightened direction, Domaine expanded from five to forty-three hectares, through the successive purchase of plots formerly associated with Château Lagrange, Third Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Julien. Today, the Meffre family, represented by Jean-Paul and his grandsons Ludovic and Julien, ambitiously manage this estate, determined to exploit all its latent potential.
Nestled among the prestigious crus classés of the Médoc, the estate has enjoyed a remarkable rise in quality since 1999, the fruit of meticulous work and an innovative vision. Year after year, in-depth reflection and meticulous renovation of the vineyard have given birth to modern wines embodying the elegance, authenticity and spirit of the exceptional terroirs that gave rise to them.

In the face of capricious weather and tense vegetative conditions, Château du Glana signs with 2024 a vintage of balance and character. Thanks to precise vineyard management and rigorous sorting, this wine perfectly illustrates the resilience of the Saint-Julien terroir.
Composed of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon and 31% Merlot, this blend seduces with its freshness, crisp fruit and fine tannins.
On the palate, the wine is supple, harmonious, without excess, carried by a beautiful energy. Barrel ageing (35% new) refines the structure and underlines the greediness of the fruit.
The finesse and precision of this 2024 are a tribute to the meticulous work of Ludovic and Julien Meffre, who have produced a wine that is true to its appellation: racy, accessible and profoundly elegant.
