Château Coutet

The construction of Château Coutet dates back to the end of the 13th century as illustrated by its tower of similar design to those of the military constructions of the English occupation in Guyenne.

It is a Premier Cru Classified according to the prestigious list of 1855.

It is a Sauternes-Barsac with an average vineyard age of 40 years and a grape variety split as follows: Semillon 75%, Sauvignon 23% and Muscadelle 2%.Its soils vary between reddish clay soil interspersed with fine gravel and Aeolian sands resting on a limestone subsoil.

The entire vineyard is a small 40 hectares for a production of about 50 barrels or about 60,000 bottles.

All the grapes are harvested by hand and the wine is aged entirely in new barrels for about 18 months before bottling.

Description Château Coutet 2024.

The wine reveals aromas of pear, citrus and roasted Botrytis notes. Taut and fresh, it reveals an energy and vivacity characteristic of Barsac terroirs. Elegant bitterness and freshness perfectly balance the sweetness of this 2024 vintage. The finish continues with notes of preserved lemons.
