Château Tauzinat L'Hermitage owes its name to the tauzin oaks, once used to make barrels. These trees still line the vineyards today, bearing witness to the region's winegrowing history and tradition.
The Château Tauzinat l'Hermitage benefits from an exceptional terroir, typical of the Saint-Émilion region. The soil is mainly composed of clay and limestone, offering excellent drainage capacity and favoring optimal ripening of the grapes.
The vineyard covers an area of 9 hectares, with a majority of Merlot grapes, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Vinification is a carefully controlled process. The grapes are harvested by hand, meticulously sorted, then vinified in temperature-controlled vats to ensure optimal fermentation. The wines of Château Tauzinat l'Hermitage are renowned for their elegance and depth. Merlot, dominant in the blend, brings aromas of red and black fruits, while Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon add structure and finesse. On the palate, the wines are distinguished by their balance, silky tannins and long finish.
From a 2024 vintage marked by contrasting climatic conditions, Château Tauzinat l'Hermitage is a wine of balance and concentration, combining silky tannic structure and aromatic brilliance. Located on the clay-limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, at an altitude of 95 meters, the 9-hectare Domaine, certified HVE 3 and ISO 14001, cultivates its Merlot (85%) and Cabernet Franc (15%) vines with respect for the environment.
Mechanical harvesting was accompanied by rigorous sorting to retain only the highest-quality berries. The final blend (90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc) perfectly reflects the personality of the cru: dense yet elegant tannins, a beautiful fruity intensity and a harmonious finish, enhanced by 12 months' ageing in French oak barrels, of which 30% is new wood.
With only 19,000 bottles produced, this Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2024 is a confidential success, both refined and expressive, ideal for lovers of wines combining power and finesse.
Harvest dates: September 20 to 25, 2024
