Château Brane-Cantenac

A Margaux of great class and infinite richness, welcome to Château Brane-Cantenac. In 1833, Baron Hector de Brane, then known as the "Napoléon of the vineyards", acquired a Domaine in the commune of Cantenac, where he sublimated the vineyard and gave it his name.

Thus was born Château Brane-Cantenac, which was promoted to Second Grand Cru Classé in the famous 1855 classification. It was during the 1920s that Domaine came under the Lurton family banner, and since 1992 it has been Henri Lurton, the fourth generation, who has been working to continue the journey begun by his predecessors.

The vineyard of Domaine rests on deep, mineral-rich gravel soils, conducive to producing great wines. It extends over 75 hectares of vines planted in red, 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 4.5% Cabernet Franc and 0.5% Carménère.

The Domaine produces a Second wine, Baron de Brane, as well as a third wine, the Margaux de Brane.

Since 2019, a few parcels of Sémillon and Sauvignon blanc have made it possible to produce the white wine of Domaine, Brane-Cantenac blanc.

The Château Brane-Cantenac is renowned for its complex, elegant and racy wines, where the purity of fruit dominates.

Description Château Brane-Cantenac 2024.

The mild, very arRosé winter favored early, even budburst. Wet spring conditions stimulated vine growth. Successful flowering revealed a fine crop, which had to be protected from the virulence of mildew. The summer, marked by high water stress and cool nights, enabled a fine aromatic and phenolic synthesis and optimal taste balance. Despite capricious weather in September and October, the harvest was carried out with precision, revealing aromatic, well-balanced white wines, as well as brilliant red wines, moderate in alcohol, both structured and fleshy. A vintage full of fruit and pleasure.

Harvest dates
Cabernet Sauvignon: September 27 to October 07, 2024
Cabernet Franc: October 02 to 07, 2024

The care we take when receiving wines in our cellars enables us to detect bottles with imperfections (dirty or faded labels, damaged capsules, etc.). In such cases, they are systematically set aside and never put online! Our preparation team selects only bottles with perfect presentation for your orders!

It is these bottles with slight external defects that we present to you in the "Existe en imparfaite" selection. These bottles are, of course, of "irreproachable" gustatory quality, but suffer from slight defects on the label or cap. We therefore offer them at a preferential price, making the pleasure of tasting them even more affordable.
