The history of Armagnac Delord began in 1893, when Prosper Delord, an itinerant distiller, transformed white wine into Armagnac as he toured the region's farms.
In 1932, his sons Gaston and Georges founded Maison Armagnac Delord Frères in Lannepax, and gradually developed exports to the United States. Gaston's son Jacques took over in 1963, joined ten years later by his brother Pierre. In 2001, the fourth generation, represented by Sylvain and Jérôme, ensured continuity: one devoted himself to making Armagnacs, the other to promoting them.

Passed down from generation to generation since its creation in 1893, Maison Delord has mastered the art of producing exceptional Armagnac. The 1970 vintage, sourced from a great terroir, is the result of long and controlled aging, revealing all the complexity and richness of a venerable brandy.
The color is amber with coppery highlights. The nose immediately seduces us with its incredible olfactory richness. Aromas of dried lime blossom, blond tobacco, and roasted coffee emerge, followed by nuances of stewed fruit, prunes, and sweet spices. A subtle and elegant touch of rancio adds extra depth, reminiscent of the great aged Armagnacs. On the palate, the attack is both mellow and powerful, with a smooth texture and remarkable amplitude. The flavors of dried fruit intermingle with notes of sweet spices and a hint of roasting, offering a highly complex aromatic palette. The long and persistent finish is marked by a beautiful minerality and a touch of noble wood, highlighting the perfect balance between concentration and freshness.
This 1970 vintage from Delord is a real gem, where time has enhanced every facet.
