The history of Armagnac Delord began in 1893, when Prosper Delord, an itinerant distiller, transformed white wine into Armagnac as he toured the region's farms.
In 1932, his sons Gaston and Georges founded Maison Armagnac Delord Frères in Lannepax, and gradually developed exports to the United States. Gaston's son Jacques took over in 1963, joined ten years later by his brother Pierre. In 2001, the fourth generation, represented by Sylvain and Jérôme, ensured continuity: one devoted himself to making Armagnacs, the other to promoting them.
In 2020, they bought the family-owned Domaine de Galaubas, a 75-hectare terroir, including 6 hectares of organic farming.

The Delord house, founded in 1893 in Lannepax by Prosper Delord, strives to express the terroir of Bas-Armagnac with finesse. The 1976 vintage embodies this splendid family expertise at an already remarkable age.
In the glass, this Armagnac boasts a magnificent coppery color with beautiful brilliance. The nose quickly reveals delicate notes of vanilla, cocoa, and prune. The aromatic background reveals hints of licorice and cedar, which bring a touch of freshness to the bouquet. On the palate, the attack is clean and relatively round. The sweetness of the fruit is expressed through jammy flavors accompanied by aromas of vanilla. The texture is smooth, almost fleshy, bringing a sensation of maturity without heaviness. The finish stretches out elegantly, marked by a discreet rancio, sweet spice, and a finely blended woody background.
This 1976 Delord is a testament to the excellence of a Bas-Armagnac matured with patience: complex, balanced, rich without excess, it deserves to be tasted in a calm setting and valued as a collector's item.
