Delord

Since 1893, Armagnac Delord has been perpetuating exceptional family know-how. From vineyard to maturing, each stage is mastered at the Domaine de Lannepax, with a unique double distillation method and vintages Rares preserved in their cellars.

The history of Armagnac Delord began in 1893, when Prosper Delord, an itinerant distiller, transformed white wine into Armagnac as he toured the region's farms.

In 1932, his sons Gaston and Georges founded Maison Armagnac Delord Frères in Lannepax, and gradually developed exports to the United States. Gaston's son Jacques took over in 1963, joined ten years later by his brother Pierre. In 2001, the fourth generation, represented by Sylvain and Jérôme, ensured continuity: one devoted himself to making Armagnacs, the other to promoting them.

In 2020, they bought the family-owned Domaine de Galaubas, a 75-hectare terroir, including 6 hectares of organic farming.

The vineyard, located in Lannepax, is planted with the four traditional Armagnac grape varieties: Ugni-blanc, CoLombard, Folle-blanche and Baco. The grapes are harvested and vinified on site, under the supervision of Sylvain Delord, to guarantee aromatic wines suitable for distillation.

Maison Delord is one of the Rares to practice both distillation methods: continuous distillation, ideal for older Armagnacs, and double toasting, which produces fruitier eaux-de-vie for younger Armagnacs. The... See more ...

Description Delord 1985.

Delord 1985 is an exceptional Armagnac, combining power, finesse, and balance. Its prolonged aging in oak barrels gives it a rich and deep aromatic palette, while retaining remarkable elegance.

With a bright copper color and deep golden highlights, this Armagnac releases intense notes of candied apricot, fig, vanilla, and honey on the nose. There are also notes of caramel and toasted almonds, as well as a subtle touch of wood and leather, typical of great aged Armagnacs. On the palate, it is smooth, elegant, and generous. The tannins are present but mellow, blending harmoniously with notes of honey, candied fruit, chocolate, and sweet spices. The texture is creamy, with good length and a lingering finish of vanilla and dried fruit.

A must for lovers of aged spirits and great vintages!

The care we take when receiving wines in our cellars enables us to detect bottles with imperfections (dirty or faded labels, damaged capsules, etc.). In such cases, they are systematically set aside and never put online! Our preparation team selects only bottles with perfect presentation for your orders!

It is these bottles with slight external defects that we present to you in the "Existe en imparfaite" selection. These bottles are, of course, of "irreproachable" gustatory quality, but suffer from slight defects on the label or cap. We therefore offer them at a preferential price, making the pleasure of tasting them even more affordable.
