The history of Armagnac Delord began in 1893, when Prosper Delord, an itinerant distiller, transformed white wine into Armagnac as he toured the region's farms.
In 1932, his sons Gaston and Georges founded Maison Armagnac Delord Frères in Lannepax, and gradually developed exports to the United States. Gaston's son Jacques took over in 1963, joined ten years later by his brother Pierre. In 2001, the fourth generation, represented by Sylvain and Jérôme, ensured continuity: one devoted himself to making Armagnacs, the other to promoting them.
In 2020, they bought the family-owned Domaine de Galaubas, a 75-hectare terroir, including 6 hectares of organic farming.
The vineyard, located in Lannepax, is planted with the four traditional Armagnac grape varieties: Ugni-blanc, CoLombard, Folle-blanche and Baco. The grapes are harvested and vinified on site, under the supervision of Sylvain Delord, to guarantee aromatic wines suitable for distillation.

Delord 1989, born in the Delord family's cellars in Lannepax, is the result of uninterrupted family expertise dating back to 1893. The Delord house, now run by the fourth generation, continues a tradition where every step, from the vineyard to the bottle, is marked by high standards and passion. This 1989, aged in oak barrels, offers an aromatic complexity and roundness that make it an exceptional spirit, to be enjoyed with respect and contemplation.
In a deep amber color with bright highlights, it exudes a very aromatic nose. It opens with notes of nuts and sweet spices such as vanilla, cinnamon, and cardamom. These are followed by more fruity scents and a subtle woodiness. The whole is beautifully complex, typical of the great vintages of the Delord house. On the palate, the attack is supple and the aromas of dried fruit and vanilla gently envelop the palate. The finish is long and harmonious, with a touch of sweet spices and remarkable persistence.
The 1989 Delord Armagnac is an invitation to travel back in time through the flavors and aromas of a preserved terroir. It is best enjoyed neat, at room temperature, to appreciate all its subtleties. An exceptional vintage to be shared among connoisseurs.
