The history of Armagnac Delord began in 1893, when Prosper Delord, an itinerant distiller, transformed white wine into Armagnac as he toured the region's farms.
In 1932, his sons Gaston and Georges founded Maison Armagnac Delord Frères in Lannepax, and gradually developed exports to the United States. Gaston's son Jacques took over in 1963, joined ten years later by his brother Pierre. In 2001, the fourth generation, represented by Sylvain and Jérôme, ensured continuity: one devoted himself to making Armagnacs, the other to promoting them.
In 2020, they bought the family-owned Domaine de Galaubas, a 75-hectare terroir, including 6 hectares of organic farming.
The vineyard, located in Lannepax, is planted with the four traditional Armagnac grape varieties: Ugni-blanc, CoLombard, Folle-blanche and Baco. The grapes are harvested and vinified on site, under the supervision of Sylvain Delord, to guarantee aromatic wines suitable for distillation.

Founded in 1893 in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, Maison Delord is an iconic family business that has been perpetuating the Gascon tradition of distilling and aging exceptional Armagnacs for four generations. True to its family expertise, Delord still distills slowly in low-grade continuous stills, before allowing time to do its work in black oak barrels. The 1994 vintage perfectly illustrates this philosophy: authenticity, patience, and rustic elegance.
The color is deep amber with coppery highlights, slightly brick-red at the edges of the glass. The first nose opens with a rich array of scents. Prunes, dried figs, and candied orange peel intermingle with spicier, woodier notes of vanilla, cinnamon, and blond tobacco. A touch of leather adds depth after a few minutes of aeration. On the palate, the attack is supple and silky, marked by the roundness of the fruit. The mid-palate unfolds flavors of dried apricot, honey, and sweet spices, supported by perfectly integrated oak. The balance between power and elegance is remarkable, with a full texture. The finish is long and warm, lingering on notes of cocoa. A slight touch of rancio highlights the noble character of the aging process.
The 1994 Delord is a Bas-Armagnac of great finesse, reflecting the patient and precise expertise of the Delord house.
