The history of Armagnac Delord began in 1893, when Prosper Delord, an itinerant distiller, transformed white wine into Armagnac as he toured the region's farms.
In 1932, his sons Gaston and Georges founded Maison Armagnac Delord Frères in Lannepax, and gradually developed exports to the United States. Gaston's son Jacques took over in 1963, joined ten years later by his brother Pierre. In 2001, the fourth generation, represented by Sylvain and Jérôme, ensured continuity: one devoted himself to making Armagnacs, the other to promoting them.
In 2020, they bought the family-owned Domaine de Galaubas, a 75-hectare terroir, including 6 hectares of organic farming.
The vineyard, located in Lannepax, is planted with the four traditional Armagnac grape varieties: Ugni-blanc, CoLombard, Folle-blanche and Baco. The grapes are harvested and vinified on site, under the supervision of Sylvain Delord, to guarantee aromatic wines suitable for distillation.

For four generations, Maison Delord has cultivated the art of Armagnac with rare rigor and sensitivity. Nestled in Lannepax, in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, it produces its eaux-de-vie from traditional grape varieties. Delord 20 Years Old is a blend of long-aged eaux-de-vie, where fruit, wood, and time intertwine perfectly to achieve perfect harmony.
In the glass, the color is a deep amber verging on mahogany, with great brilliance. The nose is rich and distinguished, revealing notes of candied fruit before opening up to spicy, woody, and toasted nuances. A subtle touch of cocoa and rancio completes a complex bouquet, marked by maturity and elegance. On the palate, the attack is full-bodied and velvety. Dried fruit dominates, supported by notes of caramel, sweet spices, and oak. The structure is dense and the balance between power and sweetness is magnificent. The finish is long, caressing, and persistent, with a return of candied fruit and cocoa, mixed with a subtle touch of toasted hazelnut. An impression of controlled warmth and aromatic fullness lingers for a long time.
This 20-year-old Delord embodies the typical characteristics of mature Bas-Armagnac, a rare combination of quiet power and aromatic complexity. Neither demonstrative nor austere, it offers a rich, balanced and deeply elegant sensory experience.
