What is the history of Maison Pierre Gimonnet?
It's around 1750 that we can find in the archives traces of the Gimonnets as winegrowers in Champagne, where they deliver their harvest to the Champagne trade. From generation to generation, they passed on their love of the vine. It wasn't until 1935 that Pierre Gimonnet began its own winemaking business. Michel, Pierre's son, joined the business in 1955. His passion and pragmatism enabled him to be a pioneer in parcel-based vinification, giving each terroir the opportunity to fully express itself. Today, Olivier and Didier Gimonnet embody the third generation, worthy heirs to an exceptional savoir-faire.

Description Pierre Gimonnet & Fils Cuvée Spécial Club Oger 2016.
Cuvée Spécial Club Oger Grand Cru 2016 is a sublime expression of Chardonnay, which comes exclusively from the prestigious Granc Cru d'Oger. The 2016 vintage is marked by the singular power and minerality of this southern terroir of Côte des blancs, renowned for its distinctive "smokier" and "graphite" character than its neighboring terroirs. It stands out for its intense expression and heightened complexity, making this cuvée a sought-after Rare.
Vinified from hand-picked grapes, this wine benefits from temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation and complete malolactic fermentation. Champagne is then aged on lees for over five years, giving it exceptional depth and richness, before being disgorged six months before shipping.
With a dosage Extra-Brut of just 4 g/L, the 2016 Cuvée Spécial Club Oger Grand Cru reveals refreshing acidity and a silky texture that extends into a long, impressive finish.
Produced in limited quantities (less than 3,000 bottles), this cuvée is a true demonstration of the Champagne Pierre Gimonnet philosophy, which usually favors blends of different terroirs to offer greater complexity. This Grand Cru mono-terroir adds an exceptional dimension to their range, offering a unique and daring interpretation of Oger Chardonnay.
