The Champagne Chartogne-Taillet embodies artisanal excellence and family passion in the world of Champagne. Founded by Alexandre Chartogne in 2006, this house of Champagne located in the village of Merfy, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, in Champagne, is distinguished by its commitment to tradition, its attachment to terroir and its perpetual quest for innovation.
The Chartogne-Taillet family history is relatively recent, but it is marked by a spirit of dedication to the art of Champagne winemaking. Alexandre Chartogne, descendant of a line of winemakers, decided to create his own house of Champagne by enhancing the family vineyards and expressing the unique potential of each terroir.
The Montagne de Reims terroir is at the heart of the Chartogne-Taillet Champagnes identity. The vineyards cover around 12 hectares, spread across several villages, including Merfy, Saint-Thierry and Fontaine-Denis. The Montagne de Reims is renowned for its chalky soils and varied exposure, creating an ideal environment for growing the emblematic grape varieties of the Champagne, such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Chartogne-Taillet Hors-Série is an exceptional cuvée dedicated to the Avize terroir, in Côte des blancs, marking the house's first foray into this iconic Grand Cru.
Produced from the 2017 harvest, this Blanc de blancs Extra brut (low dosage) was bottled in July 2018 and disgorged in May 2022. This Champagne is made from 100% Chardonnay, from vines worked without herbicides and ploughed by horse, respecting the chalky soils so particular to this terroir.
Aged in oak barrels, it is distinguished by its sharp minerality and aromatic purity. Its pale gold color heralds a refined nose with notes of candied citrus, white flowers and yellow-fleshed fruit.
The straightforward, chiselled palate reveals a subtle creamy texture, balanced by a saline tension typical of the Avize terroir, with a long, chalky finish.
This highly precise Champagne is the perfect accompaniment to delicate dishes such as scallop carpaccio, roast sea bass with fennel or top-of-the-range sushi, offering an authentic and unprecedented expression of Côte des blancs.
