Clos du Marquis
Clos du Marquis is a renowned Domaine vineyard located in the Saint-Julien appellation, in the heart of the Médoc. Renowned for the exceptional quality of its wines, Château boasts a rich history and benefits from an exceptional terroir.
The history of Clos du Marquis dates back to the 18th century, when the Marquis de Las Cases, owner of the famous Château Léoville-Las Cases, decided to create a separate parcel called Clos du Marquis. This special parcel was delimited to produce wines from the vines closest to the Marquis' home, thus benefiting from optimal conditions.
Over the generations, the de Las Cases family has continued to develop and refine the Clos du Marquis vineyard. Today, Château is owned by the Delon family, who also own Château Léoville-Las Cases. The Delon's have maintained the integrity of Domaine while bringing their expertise and commitment to quality winemaking.

The remaining 40.5 hectares stretch across the appellation's famous plateau to the west of Pauillac, bordering Pichon Baron.
SOILS
Le Petit Clos is reminiscent of the heart of Grand Enclos de Las Cases, with large pebbles scattered over a vein of clay. The plateau, formerly wooded, offers soil rich in organic matter on a foundation of clayey gravel.
