Château Prieuré-Lichine 2025 brilliantly embodies the character of great, balanced, sun-drenched vintages. Shaped by an early and demanding growing season, it combines intensity, precision, and freshness with remarkable finesse. The mild winter and warm spring fostered rapid and uniform vine development, while the scorching summer concentrated the berries without ever compromising their balance. Late-season rains and cooler nights helped preserve an essential tension, the hallmark of the vintage. In the vineyard, an extremely rigorous plot-by-plot approach and precise monitoring throughout the growing cycle played a decisive role. Harvested among the earliest in the wine estate’s history—from September 8 to 23 depending on the variety—the grapes displayed brilliant ripeness and perfect health. Naturally limited yields (28 hl/ha for the Grand Vin) further enhance the wine’s overall concentration and depth. The blend, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), complemented by Merlot (35%) and Petit Verdot (5%), fully expresses the nobility of the Garonne gravel soils of Margaux. The nose reveals deep aromas of ripe black fruit, blackcurrant, and black cherry, enhanced by floral, spicy, and slightly graphite-like nuances.
