Moulis-en-Médoc appellation. Surface area of 72 hectares. Around a committed team, the Château pRéserve family, human and qualitative values with respect for a terroir that expresses its complexity.
The harmony of the Château Poujeaux wines is enriched by a well-balanced vineyard, full berry vinification and barrel ageing, ensuring a dense and silky wine, complex and subtle, respectful of its terroir, vintage after vintage.
Vineyard blend: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon - 42% Merlot - 3% Petit Verdot
Château Poujeaux’s 2025 vintage is particularly harmonious, shaped by a hot, sunny summer that allowed the grapes to reach full ripeness while retaining lovely natural acidity and a well-balanced alcohol content. On this gravelly terroir typical of Moulis-en-Médoc, the vineyard precisely expresses a style that is both rich and structured. The winemaking process, featuring gentle and rapid extractions, prioritizes preserving the fruit and the finesse of the tannins. The 12-month ageing period, divided between 25% new barrels and 75% barrels that have held one or two vintages, supports the wine’s development without masking its aromatic identity.
On the palate, the wine displays a deep color with purple highlights. The nose opens with an immediate expression of ripe black and red fruits, dominated by cherry, blackberry, and blackcurrant, accompanied by delicate floral and slightly spicy notes. On the palate, the attack is supple and generous. The Merlot contributes a velvety, tender, and luscious texture, while the Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot provide structure with precision and freshness. The balance between concentration and acidity results in a fluid, easy-drinking, and perfectly harmonious wine. The fine, well-integrated tannins contribute to a sensation of smoothness without heaviness. The fresh, lingering finish elegantly prolongs the fruity aromas.
A seductive and balanced Poujeaux 2025, combining richness, precision, and freshness in an accessible and highly successful style.
