The Château Croizet-Bages is located in the hamlet of Bages in the town of Pauillac, in the heart of the Médoc. It was founded in the 17th century by the Croizet brothers.
The Château Croizet-Bages will be named Fifth Grand Cru Classé during the famous 1855 classification for the Paris Universal Exhibition.
Since 1942, it has belonged to the Quié family, and today it is Anne-Françoise and Jean-Philippe Quié who govern it with a family passion that has remained intact.
The Château Croizet-Bages looks after a 26-hectare vineyard planted on deep gravel and gravelly sand soils, including 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. The wines are aged for 18 months, including 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels, with the proportion of new wood ranging from 50 to 55%.
The estate produces a Second wine, Alias de Croizet-Bages.
The Château Croizet-Bages offers generous, fleshy and concentrated wines, where the purity of fruit blends harmoniously with tannins and spices, the hallmark of great Pauillac wines.
A Pauillac Grand Cru Classé since 1855, Château Croizet-Bages’s 2025 vintage embodies the generous and structured character that defines the great terroirs of the Bages plateau. The 2025 blend, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (83%) and complemented by Merlot, fully conveys the wine’s structure and depth. Vineyard-specific winemaking in stainless steel tanks, combined with controlled extraction and extended maceration, yields a dense yet refined wine. Twelve months of ageing in French oak barrels, 55% of which are new, accentuates the wine’s aromatic intensity while preserving the fruit’s vibrancy.
On the palate, the wine displays a deep color with dark, purplish highlights. The nose is intense and expressive, driven by aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and ripe black fruits, accompanied by notes of cedar, sweet spices, and graphite typical of great Pauillacs. On the palate, the attack is full-bodied and structured. The generous, concentrated body is supported by a precise and perfectly controlled tannic structure. Despite the vintage’s natural power, the wine retains great elegance thanks to lovely freshness and silky tannins that add depth without heaviness. The long, harmonious finish prolongs the fruity and spicy notes with beautiful persistence.
A complete and distinguished Croizet-Bages 2025, combining aromatic power, depth, and balance in an expression faithful to the great terroir of Pauillac.
