The Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste stands guard at the entrance to the prestigious Pauillac appellation. Its name refers to its privileged location on the heights of the appellation, atop a Puy, the Lacoste family being its owners in 1855 when it attained the title of Fifth Grand Cru Classé in the famous classification of Médoc wines for the Paris Universal Exhibition.
In 1978, Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste became part of the Borie family. Thanks to numerous technical renovations, the wines today reflect the full potential of the terroir from which they come.
The vineyard of Domaine is located on deep gravelly hilltops, and covers 62 hectares of vines, planted with 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. The wines are aged for 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels, 75% of which are new.
Lacoste-Borie is the estate's Second wine, produced with young vines and the same care as its elder brother.
The Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste produces wines in the image of Pauillac, they are powerful but controlled, with elegant tannins and offer beautiful aromatic depth.
Made from grapes grown on plots located in the heart of the vineyard—often referred to as the “park vineyards”—Lacoste-Borie 2025 offers an accessible and refined expression of the Pauillac appellation. This wine benefits from meticulous care both in the vineyard and in the cellar, aimed at preserving the fruit’s vibrancy and the vintage’s natural balance.
On the palate, the wine reveals a beautiful, clear, and precise aromatic expression, dominated by notes of fresh red fruit. The bouquet captivates with its frankness and richness, without excessive concentration, in an immediately approachable style. The palate opens with a supple and harmonious attack, giving way to a generous yet fluid texture. The refined, silky tannins delicately structure the whole without ever weighing down the wine, offering an elegant and approachable texture. The balance rests on a lovely freshness that energizes the fruit and prolongs the sensation of pleasure. The clean, balanced finish confirms this charming and precise style, with a pleasant length.
A Lacoste-Borie 2025 true to its identity: a rich, elegant, and perfectly crafted Pauillac, designed to offer immediate pleasure while retaining excellent aging potential.
