The Domaine de Chevalier is a great name that inevitably comes to mind when we think of Pessac-Léognan wines. Its origins go back several centuries, and it was once known as "Chibaley", from its Gascon name, according to official records from 1783.
The latter would also mention a nearby path leading to Santiago de Compostela. The notion of Domaine was deliberately retained by the few owners it has successively known, distinguishing it when the mention of "Château" gradually began to appear in the vineyard.
Grand Cru Classé in red and white in the 1953 Graves classification, the property has belonged to the Bernard family, major Bordeaux merchants, since 1983. Olivier Bernard and his son Adrien manage it, always striving for perfection.
Domaine de Chevalier is based on a 45-hectare vineyard planted on gravel with clay-gravel subsoils.
- The red grape varieties (40 ha) are 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet franc. The grand vin is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 35% of which are new. L'Esprit de Chevalier is the Second vin rouge.

A great dry white wine from Pessac-Léognan, the 2025 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc continues the wine estate’s tradition of exceptional wines, where aromatic finesse, precision, and depth come together with remarkable consistency. Grown on deep gravel soils over a sandy-clay subsoil, the vineyard benefits from meticulous care at every stage of production, with grapes harvested by hand and rigorously sorted to preserve the fruit’s integrity. The 2025 vintage, marked by beautiful phenolic ripeness and great natural freshness, offers a particularly pure and nuanced aromatic expression.
The nose opens with an elegant floral palette, quickly enriched by notes of ripe white fruit. Mirabelle plum, peach, and delicate citrus notes compose a complex, delicate, and highly seductive bouquet. On the palate, the attack is full-bodied and generous, carried by a rich yet highly precise texture. The texture, both smooth and crystalline, reveals beautiful intensity while maintaining remarkable tension. Freshness structures the whole and highlights the brilliance of the aromas, giving the wine a particularly harmonious energy and dynamism. The balance between richness and liveliness is perfectly mastered, offering a sense of depth without heaviness, in a style of great purity. The long, vibrant finish prolongs the fruity and floral notes with lingering elegance, hinting at promising ageing potential.
A refined and luminous 2025 Domaine de Chevalier white, combining intensity, freshness, and elegance in a style of the highest class.
