A fine reference in the Graves region, Château de Fieuzal is located in the commune of Léognan. Existing for several centuries but abandoned in the aftermath of the French Revolution, the vineyard was reborn at the end of the First Empire, and its reputation has continued to grow.
Classed red in the Graves Classification in 1953, it has been owned by Irish couple Brenda and Lochlann Quinn since 2001. With tradition and modernity, the vineyard is managed with the greatest care and respect for the environment. Thanks to a new winery inaugurated in 2011, optimization is the watchword during vinification.
The Château de Fieuzal has a 48-hectare vineyard planted on gravel and sandy clay-limestone soils.
- The red grape varieties (42 ha) are 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon 8% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet franc. The grand vin is aged for 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels, 50% of which are new. L'Abeille de Fieuzal is the Second red wine.
- The white grape varieties (6 ha) are 60% Sauvignon blanc and 40% Sémillon. The grand vin blanc is aged for 8 to 14 months in French oak barrels, 40% of which are new. L'Abeille de Fieuzal is the Second white wine.
The wines of Château de Fieuzal enjoy an excellent reputation, the reds are racy, fine and elegant while the whites are unctuous and of great aromatic purity.
The 2025 Château de Fieuzal white brilliantly confirms the wine estate’s distinctive style, where precision, texture, and freshness come together with elegance. Owned by the Quinn family, the vineyard—certified HVE 3, ISO 14001, and Bee Friendly—benefits from a special focus on expressing the terroir and preserving the natural balance of the grapes. In 2025, the grapes retained great aromatic freshness despite the sunny conditions of the vintage. The blend, dominated by Sauvignon Blanc (70%) and complemented by Sémillon (30%), perfectly captures the wine’s identity: tension, fullness, and finesse.
On tasting, the color reveals a beautiful golden hue with luminous green highlights, a sign of youth and vibrancy. The nose expresses itself delicately with notes of hawthorn and white flowers, offering a refined and precise aromatic palette. The palate captivates with its fullness and generous texture. From the first sip, the wine unfolds an enveloping richness that gradually evolves into a more saline expression, a true signature of the Fieuzal terroir. A subtle chalky sensation enhances the depth and adds a particularly elegant mineral dimension. The wine maintains a beautiful tension, supported by a perfectly integrated freshness that prolongs the tasting experience harmoniously. The long, precise finish leaves an impression of remarkable purity and balance.
A 2025 Fieuzal white that is at once full-bodied, vibrant, and distinguished, perfectly illustrating the finesse of the great white wines of Pessac-Léognan.
