The Château Guiraud, located in the Sauternes appellation of the Bordeaux region, is a distinguished wine estate that combines a rich history, family management and exceptional terroir to produce sweet wines of exceptional quality.
The history dates back to the 18th century, when Pierre Guiraud, a merchant and vineyard owner, acquired the property in 1766. Since then, Domaine has seen a series of passionate owners, but it is under the leadership of the Narby family, who acquired it in 2006, that Château Guiraud has cemented its reputation as a producer of great sweet wines.
The Narby family has continued the tradition of respect for terroir and innovation, introducing sustainable viticultural practices and adopting modern winemaking methods. Domaine is certified organic and biodynamic, underlining their commitment to preserving the environment and producing superior wines.
Situated on the Sauternes plateau, the Guiraud vineyard benefits from a soil composed of clay, limestone and gravel, which favors the development of botrytis cinerea, the noble fungus needed to produce sweet wines. The vines also benefit from ideal sun exposure and proximity to the River Ciron, creating optimal conditions for the formation of noble rot.

The 2025 vintage, marked by a hot and early growing season, provided ideal conditions for the development of Botrytis cinerea following a series of timely rains in late summer. The harvest, carried out with great precision in four successive passes, yielded perfectly botrytized grapes that were concentrated and well-balanced.
The blend, dominated by Sémillon (66%), complemented by Sauvignon Blanc (27%) and Sauvignon Gris (7%), is vinified in French oak barrels, some of which are new, using indigenous yeasts. The 18-month aging process refines the structure and enriches the aromatic profile without altering the wine’s natural freshness.
On the palate, the wine reveals great aromatic precision. The nose opens with fresh notes of vine peach and white flowers, quickly evolving into a riper profile of apricot and roasted pineapple, accented by hints of garrigue, dried herbs, and a subtle woody touch. The overall impression is complex, expressive, and beautifully crisp. The palate, rich and enveloping, expresses a generous, indulgent character marked by honeyed and fruity notes, almost opulent. A fresh structure, supported by lively accents, balances this richness. The finish, long and persistent, oscillates between richness and freshness, leaving an impression of controlled balance, true to the estate’s style.
A Guiraud 2025 that is both intense and refined, where the power of the vintage combines with great precision, heralding a sweet wine of great stature.
Harvested from September 15 to October 3.
