Château Taillefer 2025

The 2025 vintage, harvested early, reflects a sunny year that allowed the grapes to reach excellent ripeness. The blend, dominated by Merlot, fully expresses the terroir’s identity. The harvest, mechanized but accompanied by rigorous sorting, ensures a high-quality selection of the berries. Traditional winemaking favors gentle extraction in temperature-controlled concrete tanks, while 12 months of ageing in French oak barrels, 30% of which are new, refines the structure and enriches the aromatic profile.

In the glass, the wine displays a deep, dense color, reflecting its concentration. The nose is generously expressive, revealing aromas of ripe black fruits, enhanced by subtle spicy notes and a slightly mineral touch, a hallmark of the iron-rich soils. On the palate, the attack is full-bodied and velvety, offering a generous, structured texture. The Merlot brings roundness and richness, while the Cabernet Franc supports the whole with a fresher, more elegant framework. The tannins, present yet well-integrated, give the wine a beautiful structure without harshness. The finish, harmonious and persistent, prolongs this sense of balance, with a lovely expression of fruit and a promising structure.
