Domaine Clarence Dillon

Domaine Clarence Dillon is a family business, founded in 1935 by Clarence Dillon, perpetuating for four generations the tradition of a French art de vivre combining exceptional wines and high-class gastronomy.

His Royal Highness Prince Robert de Luxembourg, great-grandson of Clarence Dillon, Robert de Luxembourg knew from an early age that Domaine Clarence Dillon would be his life's passion. Aware that he held a small piece of France's history in his hands, he followed in the footsteps of his forebears, continuing the building work initiated by Jean de Pontac in the 16th century. A visionary, a true conductor, he has surrounded himself with a passionate team, entirely devoted to the same ideal of excellence.

The story of Domaine Clarence Dillon began in 1935, when Clarence Dillon acquired Château Haut-Brion with the aim of restoring its letters of nobility and bringing it back into the circle of legendary great wines. This bold and courageous vision has been perpetuated ever since.

1983: Acquisition of Château La Mission Haut-Brion

2011: Birth of Château Quintus in Saint-Emilion, the new star of Rive droite

2015: Opening of Le Clarence gourmet restaurant (** Michelin) in Paris

Description Wooden case Prestige 2016 by Domaine Clarence Dillon.

-- Delivery end of October 2023 --

The Domaine Clarence Dillon honors the 2016 vintage with apanned case, issued in limited quantities.

2016, one of the finest vintages in recent years at Bordeaux. Beneath the sliding lid marked with the family company's logo, six bottles of the first and Seconds wines from Rive gauche and Rive droite are gradually revealed. Opening the drawer then reveals three magnums of the first wines from the three properties. This beautiful case will also, in a Second time, elegantly dress up an interior.

The case consists of:

  • Château Haut Brion rouge 2016 - Pessac-Léognan - 1er Grand Cru Classé - : One bottle and one magnum

Wine Advocate: 100/100

  • Clarence Haut Brion 2016 - Pessac-Léognan - 2nd wine of Château Haut-Brion: One bottle

Vinous: 94/100

  • Château La Mission Haut Brion Rouge 2016 - Pessac-Léognan - Cru Classé de Graves: One bottle and one magnum

Vinous 99/100

  • La Chapelle de la Mission Haut Brion 2016 - Pessac-Léognan - 2nd wine of Ch. La Mission Haut-Brion : One bottle

  • Le Dragon de Quintus 2016 - Saint-Emilion Grand Cru - 2nd wine of Château Quintus :  one bottle

James Suckling: 93/100

So 6 bottles and 3 magnums in the 2016 vintage

The 2016 vintage:

After a cool, rainy winter and spring, flowering, on both banks, proceeded with almost miraculous homogeneity. The summer's great drought was ended by a spell of rain in mid-September, which helped to perfect ripening. In October, no rain disrupted the harvest. The cool nights, combined with the warm days, enabled us to produce structured wines that were also fresh and fruity. Paradox or miracle of nature? The great 2016 vintage reaffirms, once again, the strength of great terroirs.
