Moulis-en-Médoc appellation. Surface area of 72 hectares. Around a committed team, the Château pRéserve family, human and qualitative values with respect for a terroir that expresses its complexity.
The harmony of the Château Poujeaux wines is enriched by a well-balanced vineyard, full berry vinification and barrel ageing, ensuring a dense and silky wine, complex and subtle, respectful of its terroir, vintage after vintage.
Vineyard blend: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon - 42% Merlot - 3% Petit Verdot
The 2017 vintage of Château Poujeaux stands out for its elegance, concentration and finesse, the fruit of a rigorous selection process following a spring frost that only partially spared the vineyard.
The gravelly core parcels of the estate, which are of the highest quality, were the main ingredients of the final blend.
The result is a wine that expresses the purity of its terroir, enhanced by whole-berry vinification and 12 months of careful barrel ageing (a third of which is new).
La robe dark garnet hints at intensity. The refined nose opens with ripe black fruits enhanced by spicy touches and a slightly graphite character. On the palate, the attack is supple, then the wine gains in density without losing its finesse.
The texture is silky, the tannins perfectly integrated. The whole is harmonious, precise and well-balanced, carried by a dominant duo of Cabernet Sauvignon (62%) and Petit Verdot (13%) which give structure and freshness to the finish. A delicately racy vintage with good ageing potential.
Harvest dates: September 18 to October 04, 2017
