Champagne Pertois-Moriset

Pertois-Moriset: The Excellence of Artisanal Champagne in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.

Located in the prestigious Grand Cru terroir of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Maison Pertois-Moriset crafts signature Champagnes of remarkable precision and purity. A member of the highly exclusive Club Trésors de Champagne, this independent family estate elevates the Chardonnay of the Côte des Blancs through single-vineyard cuvées acclaimed by connoisseurs and sommeliers alike.

A story of family and terroir

Born from the union of two winemaking families, Maison Pertois-Moriset is today brilliantly led by Cécile and her husband Vincent Bauchet. Together, they have infused the estate with a spirit of modernity while upholding a tradition of excellence. The vineyard spans nearly 19 hectares, distributed in a unique way: approximately 12 hectares of Chardonnay in the Côte des Blancs (Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Cramant, Chouilly) and 7 hectares of Pinot Noir in the southern slopes of Épernay.

The art of single-vineyard winemaking

Pertois-Moriset’s strength lies in a nearly “Burgundian” approach to Champagne. Each vineyard is vinified separately, often in oak (large casks and barrels), to preserve the identity and chalky minerality of each terroir. The house favors long aging on lees and very low dosages (Extra-Brut or Nature), resulting in wines of great integrity, depth, and a silky texture.

Description Pertois-Moriset Oger 2017.

In the heart of the Côte des Blancs, the Pertois-Moriset house remains deeply committed to expressing the character of the villages and specific vineyard sites. Its plot-by-plot approach, guided by careful, low-intervention viticulture, seeks to reveal the uniqueness of each terroir through precise winemaking techniques and extended ageing on the lees. With its single-village cuvées, the house offers a sensitive interpretation of the grands crus of the Côte des Blancs, where Chardonnay becomes the faithful interpreter of the chalk and the climate. Oger 2017 embodies this vision of terroir. Sourced exclusively from several plots in the Grand Cru village of Oger—Le Moulin, Fond des Noyers, Tournière, Terre de Noël, and Pierre Vaudon, this vintage blanc de blancs reveals a generous yet incisive interpretation of this terroir, renowned for its balance between fullness and tension. The old vines, with an average age of nearly sixty years, bring depth and natural density to this wine.

The nose immediately reveals beautiful fruit ripeness, typical of the 2017 vintage. Notes of ripe pear, mirabelle plum, and white peach intertwine with fresher nuances of candied lemon and white flowers. Upon aeration, hints of damp chalk, fresh almond, and a subtle pastry note emerge from the long aging on lees. On the palate, the wine captivates with its balance between body and tension. The attack, full-bodied and enveloping, quickly gives way to a more upright structure, carried by precise acidity and a chalky salinity very characteristic of Oger. The low Extra-Brut dosage of 2 g/L allows the terroir to express itself without artifice, in a pure and taut interpretation of Chardonnay. The body remains generous, however, supported by a fine effervescence that is perfectly integrated after forty-six months of aging on the lees. The long, briny finish elegantly prolongs the notes of ripe citrus and chalky stone.

Oger 2017 thus emerges as a fully realized terroir-driven champagne, combining the village’s natural richness with a finely chiseled mineral structure. A gastronomic cuvée, ideal with premium shellfish, roasted turbot, or delicately creamed poultry.

ROSES2025

The care we take when receiving wines in our cellars enables us to detect bottles with imperfections (dirty or faded labels, damaged capsules, etc.). In such cases, they are systematically set aside and never put online! Our preparation team selects only bottles with perfect presentation for your orders!

It is these bottles with slight external defects that we present to you in the "Existe en imparfaite" selection. These bottles are, of course, of "irreproachable" gustatory quality, but suffer from slight defects on the label or cap. We therefore offer them at a preferential price, making the pleasure of tasting them even more affordable.
