A sure-fire, must-try value, Maison Deutz has decidedly everything to please, offering numerous Champagnes as fine as they are irresistible. Spanning 45 hectares of vineyards around the town of Aÿ, mainly classified as Premier Cru and Grand Cru, Maison Deutz demonstrates an authentic style with the purest respect for traditional methods and environmental issues.
La Maison de Champagne Deutz was founded in 1838 in Aÿ by William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann, who were born during the First Prussian Empire and immigrated to France in 1830. William was already selling Champagne while Pierre-Hubert was a wine merchant, so they combined their skills to found their own trading house. Initially specializing in exports, mainly to Germany, they eventually invested in some of the finest vineyards in the region, to gain total control over the production of their own Champagne. Thus was born Maison Deutz. Very quickly, Champagnes Deutz would become internationally recognized for their refinement and become associated with prestige.

Made exclusively from white grapes selected from the finest terroirs of the Côte des Blancs, this 2020 vintage elegantly captures the characteristics of a sunny year, while retaining the tension and purity typical of great single-varietal champagnes.
To the eye, the color stands out for its crystalline brilliance, enlivened by a delicate effervescence with fine, regular bubbles. The initial nose opens elegantly with notes of fresh citrus such as lemon and grapefruit, quickly joined by floral nuances reminiscent of hawthorn. With aeration, more indulgent notes emerge: white-fleshed fruits, almond, and a subtle hint of brioche, reflecting barrel aging. On the palate, the attack is lively, direct, almost incisive, driven by precise acidity that structures the whole. The wine then unfolds with a silky, airy texture, where the finesse of the bubbles complements a body of great purity. The long, briny finish prolongs this impression of freshness and clarity, leaving an elegant and lingering impression.
This 2020 Blanc de Blancs is ideal as an aperitif but will reveal its full complexity at the table, paired with seafood, delicate fish, or refined dishes. A champagne for connoisseurs—precise and refined—that will charm with its balance of energy and subtlety.
