What discerning champagne lover is not familiar with Maison Diebolt-Vallois, whose sumptuous cuvées offer a refreshingly pure expression of terroir? A true benchmark among the great artisans of the Côte des Blancs, Diebolt-Vallois has always demonstrated exemplary craftsmanship, showcasing a distinct style characterized by integrity, finesse, and elegance.
A Champagne producer renowned for its strong convictions and authenticity, it ranks among the most respected family-owned estates in Cramant, ensuring long-term control over its supplies and the production of cuvées of the highest precision.
The history of this family of winemakers is rooted in Cramant, one of the most famous villages in the Côte des Blancs, entirely classified as Grand Cru. The estate took on its modern form in 1959 under the leadership of Jacques Diebolt and his wife Nadia Vallois, who decided to combine their respective families’ wine-growing legacies to found Maison Diebolt-Vallois. The Tradition cuvée embodies the classic elegance of Diebolt-Vallois. This champagne is crafted from a blend of 38% Chardonnay and 62% Pinot Noir, sourced from the terroirs of Cuis (Premier Cru), Épernay, and the Côte des Bars. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the identity of each grape variety. After bottling, the cuvée is aged for three years on its lees in the estate’s cellars before disgorgement. Its profile is rounded out by an Extra Brut dosage of 4g/L.
This champagne is characterized by a beautiful balance between the tension and purity provided by the Chardonnay and the roundness provided by the Pinot Noir. It presents itself as an accessible, classic, and decidedly refined wine. Thanks to this harmony and precision, this cuvée is ideal for accompanying a gourmet aperitif or for elegantly setting the tone at the start of a meal.
