A.R. Lenoble

A.R. Lenoble

It was in 1915 that Armand-Raphaël Graser, then a wine merchant in Alsace, left his native region to join Champagne and set up in Damery, in an 18th-century building with typical Champagne architecture, the company's current head office. He began producing Champagne under the brand name "AR Lenoble",  "A.R." for his initials and "Lenoble" as a tribute to the nobility of Champagne wines.

In 1947, his son Joseph then succeeded him, then in 1973, on Joseph's retirement, the House passed into the hands of Jean-Marie Malassagne, Armand-Raphaël's grandson, who himself in 1993 handed over the keys to the house to his daughter Anne and son Antoine, the 4th generation at the helm of this very fine House.

Today, in order to pursue its development, the company has decided to open up its capital to the Frère-Gallienne family's FG Bros holding company, which owns stakes in Château Cheval Blanc in Saint-Emilion. Antoine Malassagne "remains associated and operationally involved to ensure the continuity of the work accomplished alongside his sister Anne over three decades.

Description A.R. Lenoble Dosage Zéro - V19.

The Dosage Zéro cuvée from Maison AR Lenoble represents the excellence of a non-dosed Champagne, made with perfect mastery of the three Champagne grape varieties. The wines come from the prestigious terroirs of Côte des blancs, Grande Vallée de la Marne and Vallée de la Marne, guaranteeing exceptional quality and typicity. This wine is distinguished by prolonged aging in our historic cellars, where the optimal ripeness of carefully selected grapes and the aromatic complexity developed during aging combine to offer a balance that is both fair and harmonious.

On tasting, the nose reveals an intense bouquet of fleshy fruit, evolving from fresh fruit to fruit in syrup, with notes of stewed fruit. The aromatic expression is pure and rich, evoking young mirabelle plum, ripe pear and roasted pineapple. Tertiary nuances of lightly toasted almonds and fresh bread, contributed by the wines of Réserve, are elegantly integrated into this aromatic mosaic. On the palate, the attack is frank and acidic, supported by a chiselled bubble. The long, spicy finish is enhanced by a hint of lemon, leaving delicate, persistent tactile sensations.

This cuvée, aged in vats with undergrowth (20%) and in corked magnums (10%), benefits from an average 60-month maturation period, giving it remarkable complexity and depth. It goes perfectly with refined dishes such as butternut velouté with burrata, tuna à la plancha with crunchy vegetables, poultry supreme cooked at low temperature, or pear crumble.

ROSES2025

The care we take when receiving wines in our cellars enables us to detect bottles with imperfections (dirty or faded labels, damaged capsules, etc.). In such cases, they are systematically set aside and never put online! Our preparation team selects only bottles with perfect presentation for your orders!

It is these bottles with slight external defects that we present to you in the "Existe en imparfaite" selection. These bottles are, of course, of "irreproachable" gustatory quality, but suffer from slight defects on the label or cap. We therefore offer them at a preferential price, making the pleasure of tasting them even more affordable.
