This House of Champagne was created in 1760 in Reims by François Delamotte, the founder. Some time later, his son Alexandre bought a house and cellars in Mesnil-sur-Oger, where Delamotte is still located.
The brand and premises were then bought in 1927 by Marie-Louise de Nonancourt, and it was her son, Charles, who ran it from 1948 to 1988.
Then, in 1988, the house was bought by Laurent-Perrier and was managed by Bernard de Nonancourt until 2010, when Alexandra and Stéphanie de Nonancourt took up the torch to write the future of this House.
This Delamotte Brut perfectly embodies the discreet elegance and precision of Maison Delamotte. Composed mainly of Chardonnay and complemented by Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, it has been aged for 36 months in the cellar to develop intense aromas. Its pale gold color with silvery highlights has a fine and regular effervescence. The nose immediately seduces with its freshness and aromatic purity. Notes of ripe citrus, green apple, and white flowers intertwine with subtle hints of brioche and fresh hazelnut. On the palate, the attack is clean and straightforward, carried by the liveliness of the Chardonnay. The fine, silky bubbles envelop the palate with a delicate texture, while Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier bring a skilfully balanced roundness and depth. Flavors of white-fleshed fruit, candied lemon, and sweet almond linger on a tense, long, and mouthwatering finish, where elegance always prevails over power.
Served between 8 and 10°C, it will reveal all its freshness and delicacy.
