The Domaine Hubert Lamy is a highly reputed Domaine from Burgundy, located on Côte de Beaune at Saint-Aubin. An essential reference, it was created in 1973 by Hubert Lamy, then owner of 8 hectares of vines at Saint-Aubin.
Today, Domaine is run by Hubert's son Olivier, and has grown significantly, comprising 18 hectares of vines spread over the Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay appellations.
Olivier, renowned for his rigorous and innovative approach, focuses on environmentally-friendly viticulture to express the full complexity of Bourgogne's climates. The result is wines of great purity that perfectly express their exceptional terroir.
This Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru "Les Macherelles" 2023, from Domaine Hubert Lamy, has a pale, almost translucent color with subtle golden highlights. The bouquet is remarkably refined and complex, opening with notes of lime, grapefruit, pear, apple, and nuts. A subtle floral nuance, reminiscent of chamomile and white tea, as well as a hint of acacia honey, brings an aromatic depth reminiscent of the great wines of Meursault. On the palate, the attack is round and enveloping, with a rich body and a smooth texture that testify to the optimal ripeness of the grapes and the precision of the work in the cellar. Despite its power, the wine retains a vibrant freshness, carried by a perfectly integrated acidity. The finish is long and persistent, marked by a salty minerality and notes of candied citrus, leaving an impression of purity and complexity.
