Château Montifaud

La Maison Montifaud, located in the heart of the Cognac region of France, is a renowned distillery that embodies excellence in the production of Cognac.

Founded in 1837 by Augustin Vallet, this house of Cognacs is today run by the sixth generation of the Vallet family, a testament to the family's ongoing commitment to tradition and craftsmanship.

The Vallet family history dates back over 180 years, when Augustin Vallet established the Montifaud distillery. Since then, the Vallet family have dedicated their lives to producing exceptional Cognacs, passing on their expertise from generation to generation. This family continuity is an essential part of the Montifaud philosophy, where each family member is committed to pRéserver the heritage while seeking to innovate and constantly improve the quality of their Cognacs.

Montifaud's Domaine viticultural estate is vast, spanning hectares of well-tended vineyards in the Petite Champagne region, one of Cognac's most prestigious crus. The limestone and clay soils of Petite Champagne bring a unique complexity and aromatic richness to the grapes that form the basis of Cognacs Montifaud. This considerable Domaine size enables Montifaud to grow its own vines, closely monitor every stage of production and guarantee the exceptional quality of its eaux-de-vie.

Description Château de Montifaud Héritage Louis Vallet L50.

Château de Montifaud Héritage Louis Vallet L50 has been naturally reduced to 50%, then diluted for 2 years to 40%.

The very old eaux-de-vie dating for the oldest from 1935, come from one and the same cru; Petite Champagne.

This Cognac has reached its fullness with its beautiful copper color. On the nose appear aromas of nuts, cigar box and spicy notes.

The palate is very delicate, round and complex with that inevitable exceptional "rancio" typical of Très vieux Cognacs. Its length on the palate is worthy of the best Cognacs.

The use of old casks for maturation has prevented any excess tannin, despite its long ageing.

To open this bottle is to taste the history of the Vallet family through the generations.

The care we take when receiving wines in our cellars enables us to detect bottles with imperfections (dirty or faded labels, damaged capsules, etc.). In such cases, they are systematically set aside and never put online! Our preparation team selects only bottles with perfect presentation for your orders!

It is these bottles with slight external defects that we present to you in the "Existe en imparfaite" selection. These bottles are, of course, of "irreproachable" gustatory quality, but suffer from slight defects on the label or cap. We therefore offer them at a preferential price, making the pleasure of tasting them even more affordable.
