Godet is a Maison de Commerce de Cognac founded in 1782, but earlier archives allow us to go back as far as 1550, when Bonnaventure Godet from the Netherlands set up a wine business on the Quai de La Rochelle.
Later, Jean Godet, ennobled by King Louis XIV of France, was Mayor for life of Fontenais.
In 1782, in the 7th generation, Maison Godet was entered in the Trade Register as a trader in Cognac, a key act authenticating this house.
Today, Maison Godet is run by the fifteenth generation, still based in La Rochelle.
The Godet Renaissance is the ultimate blend of 15 exceptional eaux-de-vie, some dating back to the 19th century. This Cognac Paradis, aged between 70 and 170 years, comes exclusively from the premier cru of Cognac: Grande Champagne. Each drop is a tribute to patience and mastery, preserved like a treasure in an underground cellar walled up during the Occupation, thus escaping destruction.
Its captivating nose unfolds aromas of old Russian leather, Alpine honey, and prickly pears, promising an exceptional tasting experience as deep as the secret that surrounds it. This rare cognac, as admirable as its age, reveals unparalleled complexity, the fruit of expertise passed down through generations.
Presented in a hand-blown crystal decanter adorned with a rose gold ribbon, each bottle in this exclusive collection is numbered, making it a unique piece. A work of art worthy of its contents: a cognac as rare as it is precious.
It all began on June 13, 1588, when Henri de Navarre, the future King of France, thanked Bonaventure Godet for the "unknown beverage" he had been offered. As a reward, the King authorized the Godet family to bear his coat of arms—the first official recognition of a lineage dedicated to excellence.
Godet Renaissance is much more than a cognac: it is a journey through time, a liquid work of art, and a symbol of resilience. To be savored with emotion, to celebrate the most memorable moments or simply to enjoy the exceptional.
