Since 1893, the Peyrot family has cultivated an unshakeable passion for the vine and the land. It all began with Jean Baptiste, our great-grandfather, who instilled this love of terroir in his descendants.
It was in 1956 that our grandparents, Jean and Mathilde, really launched the adventure, devoting themselves to the distillation and production of Cognac, on a Domaine that then covered 7 hectares. Their production was mainly destined for the regional trade, but their ambition and dedication enabled them to gradually expand the vineyard.
In 1970, our parents, François and Gisèle, decided to create their own brand. In July 1971, they marketed their first bottle, a VSOP, under the name "Cognac François Peyrot". Today, we proudly perpetuate this heritage, respecting the skills and know-how handed down by our elders. François Peyrot Lot 61 Héritage is an exceptional cognac, produced in the Grande Champagne region, the premier cru of Cognac. Distilled in 1961 by Mathilde, François' grandmother, from the Ugni Blanc grape variety, it has been aged for over 60 years in French oak barrels, without reduction, thus preserving all the richness of its aromas. Bottled at its natural alcohol content of 43.8%, it offers an authentic and unique tasting experience.
Its color is a deep amber-gold, almost golden, reflecting its long aging. On the nose, it reveals complex notes, blending candied fruit, vanilla, noble wood, and a subtle touch of rancio, characteristic of great aged cognacs. This olfactory harmony is accompanied by a rare elegance, unique to Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie. On the palate, the attack is round and velvety, offering a silky texture. The flavors of ripe fruit and toasted nuts unfold with finesse, supported by a slight spicy touch. The finish is long and harmonious, marked by an aromatic persistence that testifies to the excellence of its aging.
This premier cru spirit offers an unforgettable taste experience, at once smooth, mellow, and silky, with a memorable bouquet.
