A name synonymous with tradition and excellence, born of the know-how of the Abécassis family. Anchored in the heart of the Charente region, Domaine Leyrat embodies the philosophy of Single Estate Cognac: total control of the production process, from vine to glass.
Located in the heart of the Fins Bois cru, Domaine Leyrat extends over 102 hectares of vines carefully cultivated to respect biodiversity. This terroir, rich in limestone soils, gives the eaux-de-vie floral notes and great finesse. The House stands out for its commitment to eco-responsibility, rewarded in 2023 by the Trophées Cognac Vignoble Engagé - Biodiversité.
Every stage in the production process is carried out on site: harvesting at perfect maturity, vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, and distillation in 1971 Charentais stills. Under the expert guidance of the Master Distiller, double iron distillation produces pure, aromatic eaux-de-vie.
Aging takes place in over 2,000 Limousin oak barrels, spread over 11 cellars, some of which house century-old Cognacs. Once matured, the eaux-de-vie are precisely blended to create a refined range: VS, VSOP, XO and exceptional vintages. Bottling, carried out on the estate, is distinguished by the care given to the exceptional, hand-labeled decanters.
Domaine Leyrat welcomes visitors all year round for tastings and guided tours through its unique winegrowing heritage. Immerse yourself in the world of Single Estate Cognac, a symbol of passion, tradition and innovation.
Leyrat XO Hors d'Âge has an old gold color and a complex nose of spices, wood, acacia honey and candied orange, with hints of sweet ginger and nutmeg. On the palate, it's supple and harmonious, offering a silky texture and an elegant finish marked by vanilla and brioche notes.
It goes perfectly with refined dishes such as duck breast, scallops or a smoked salmon mille-feuille, creating a harmony between the spicy and sweet aromas of Cognac.
Produced from 100% Ugni-blanc grapes on Domaine at Chez Maillard en Fins Bois, it is distilled in Charentais stills and aged in Limousin oak barrels. This 40% vol. Cognac is available in 70cl and 75cl sizes, with or without individual cases.
