Located in Eraville, on the border between Grande and Petite Champagne, the house of Cognac Jean-Luc Pasquet traces its origins back to 1730.
The domain was passed down from generation to generation until Jean-Luc Pasquet inherited the property in 1970. It was only in 1977 that Jean-Luc Pasquet began bottling its production.
The 14-hectare vineyard today is farmed organically - certified since 1998 - and planted with grape varieties from the Cognac region. This vineyard also has a few vines of Folle Blanche, the king grape of the Cognac region before the phylloxera crisis at the end of the 19th century. At the time, this very fragile grape gave rise to eaux-de-vie of incomparable finesse and richness, both olfactory and gustatory.
The house raises several qualities of Cognacs of different ages under labels specific to each quality. To ensure the continuity of its range of Cognacs over 20 years old at a time when its stock of old Cognacs is running out, Maison Pasquet goes out to meet the "bouilleurs de crus" (distillers) who keep hidden treasures in the privacy of their cellars. It selects a single cask and finishes working it to bring it to its ideal tasting level. Each bottle bears the producer's first name and is produced in a limited, numbered series.
The Trésors de Famille collection from Jean-Luc Pasquet has been expanded with an especially moving eighteenth release: Le Cognac de Joël. The result of Joël Rateau’s meticulous work, this eau-de-vie is the product of a personal and technical collaboration that began some twenty years ago at the Maine Frugier distillery. Joël, a unique figure in the world of cognac, remains famous for his extraordinary ingenuity. Eager to preserve his family life while ensuring absolute precision during distillation, he equipped his stills with mechanical alarm mechanisms to automate the cuts. It is this blend of artisanal expertise, natural curiosity, and humor that defines the soul of this bottle.
This L.82/88 cuvée comes exclusively from the premier cru of the Cognac region, Grande Champagne. Crafted from 100% Ugni Blanc, this cognac displays a rare intensity where power and finesse are perfectly balanced. On the palate, the exuberance of exotic fruits blends harmoniously with the controlled influence of the barrel, all enhanced by the patina of time that rounds out and amplifies every aroma. This true treasure, born in the village of Nonaville, reflects all the joie de vivre and passion of its creator.
Packaged in 500 ml bottles and bottled on February 26, 2026, this cuvée is a limited edition of just 348 bottles. Offered at a natural alcohol content of 49.2% ABV, this cask-strength cognac is an invitation to discover the legacy of an enthusiast whose vineyard is now carried on by his son Cédric. Each numbered bottle represents a piece of history, drawn from a single cask selected for its exceptional character.
