A House of Cognac, located in Chermignac in the heart of this deep Saintonge, not far from Saintes, a Roman city with limestone soils where the Romans planted their first vines in Gaul at the very beginning of our era.
Saintes could have become the capital of Cognac, but it had to give way to its rival Cognac, which later gave its name to France's most famous eau-de-vie at the end of the 19th century.
The house of Vallein-Tercinier was founded in 1850 and is still run today by a 5th generation bearing the same name.
Cognac Vallein Tercinier VSOP Premium Selection is a deliciously sweet, floral and fruity eau-de-vie produced by Vallein Tercinier in the Petit Champagne terroir, renowned for its fertile limestone soils. This Cognac, at 40% alcohol, is a blend whose youngest component has aged between 7 and 10 years, exclusively in French Limousin and Tronçais oak barrels.
The color of Cognac intensifies with age, revealing a deeper, richer hue. On the nose, it reveals notes of vanilla, acquired through contact with oak casks, as well as subtle floral aromas and mellow wood notes. Roundness and softness are also perceptible. On the palate, it offers a silky texture with floral and fruity flavors, including notes of sweet stone fruit. Vanilla and oak aromas are well integrated, bringing a particular elegance and delicacy.
This Cognac can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as a long drink, especially with fresh tonic water in a balloon glass. Its smoothness and elegance make it an ideal choice for hot summer days.
