Martell: The oldest of the important Cognac houses was founded in 1715 by Jean Martell, a native of the island of Jersey who was barely 20 years old at the time and attracted by the already worldwide reputation of Charente eaux-de-vie.
Today, Martell is the world's 2nd largest brand of Cognac. Master of all its production, from distillation to bottling, blending and ageing, it has chosen to produce Cognacs from the region's 4 main appellations and to give pride of place to Borderies, 3rd cru in the Cognac hierarchy, renowned for its elegance.
This know-how, combined with the oak barrels in which they age for many years, gives rise to Cognacs of extreme finesse, floral and fragrant, preciously preserved in bottles with very elegant lines that make them the jewels of Cognac.
Martell Chanteloup XXO is an ode to the unrivalled mastery of Maison Martell, an exceptional blend of up to 450 very old eaux-de-vie, carefully selected from the four most prestigious crus of Cognac.
Its bewitchingly deep amber color reveals shimmering highlights that herald an exceptional sensory experience. On the nose, a complex symphony of aromas: sweet honey, vine peach and juicy apricot, sublimated by gourmet notes of fig, almond and walnut. On the palate, the balance is perfect: intense fruity aromas blossom with silky roundness and marked aromatic power, followed by a remarkably persistent finish.
The name "Chanteloup XXO" pays tribute to the Château of Chanteloup, the historic birthplace of Maison Martell. Each drop of this Cognac embodies nine generations of savoir-faire, now sublimated by the talent of Cellar Master Christophe Valtaud.
