House Prunier is located in Cognac with 250 years of history spanning more than two centuries. Since 1769, House Prunier has been making its mark alongside the great names of Cognac.
The first traces of the Prunier family date back to 1701, but it wasn't until 1769 that bottling and export activities really got underway at Cognac, as the old labels on Prunier bottles testify.
Across the ages, the 1850 building has seen each generation grow up. The walls, like photographs, carry the family memory. Even today, this building is the soul of Maison Prunier.
The XXO Family Series No. 2 is an exceptional cognac, produced from a single barrel from the 1985 vintage, sourced from the prestigious Grande Champagne region. Carefully selected by Dale Cooper and Stéphane Burnez from Maison Prunier, this cognac embodies the art of patience and expertise.
During a recent visit to the Cognac region, Dale Cooper explored the damp cellars of Maison Prunier in Gimeux, where hundreds of barrels and *dames-jeannes* (large glass demijohns) lie in silent cradles, allowing time to refine these treasures.
Nose: Generously expressive and extroverted, it reveals a captivating blend of spices, black pepper, fresh nuts, and dried fruit.
Palate: Powerful and balanced, it seduces with refined tannins, aromas of licorice, and a citrusy (orange) structure. A cognac of remarkable precision and finesse, offering a beautiful length on the palate.
