House Prunier is located in Cognac with 250 years of history spanning more than two centuries. Since 1769, House Prunier has been making its mark alongside the great names of Cognac.
The first traces of the Prunier family date back to 1701, but it wasn't until 1769 that bottling and export activities really got underway at Cognac, as the old labels on Prunier bottles testify.
Across the ages, the 1850 building has seen each generation grow up. The walls, like photographs, carry the family memory. Even today, this building is the soul of Maison Prunier.
A unique blend of 70% Grande Champagne and 30% Petite Champagne, the Burnez-Prunier family's Cognac ''Horizon'' pays tribute to Jean Burnez, Stéphane Burnez's grandfather, who cherished this fusion of terroirs.
The youngest Cognac in this blend dates from 1988, while the oldest dates back to 1966. The latter are aged separately in 200- and 400-liter oak barrels and benefit from the ideal conditions of the Gimeux cellars, whose natural hygrometry provided by the adjacent river favors optimal aging.
To the eye, ''Horizon'' reveals a brilliant bronze-gold color, reflecting its prolonged aging. On the nose, it reveals a deep, complex bouquet, with notes of white truffle, butter, cream, ripe banana, clove and orange peel. On the palate, this bouquet gradually unfolds, balanced by fine tannins, delicate rancio and complex notes of clove and tobacco.
On the palate, Cognac offers magnificent balance and reveals remarkable depth. The length is exceptional, marked by notes of undergrowth and integrated rancio, underlining the classic, refined character of this Cognac.
This Cognac is ideal for drinking with dark chocolate or dark coffee, to enhance its complex aromas.
